LinkedIn es el Nuevo Facebook

LinkedIn is the new Facebook

Gary Veynerchuk was right when he said that LinkedIn is the new Facebook .

The best-known platform for finding employment or networking Business to Business (B2B) is developing a new independent marketplace platform which will allow companies to find, connect with, and pay freelance workers on the platform.

According to reports The Information

"LinkedIn is developing a new service called Marketplaces to allow its 740 million users to find and hire freelancers, pitting it against publicly traded firms like Upwork and Fiverr, according to two people with direct knowledge of the matter."

This is not LinkedIn's first effort to provide connection tools for independent workers or freelancers.

LinkedIn already has its own ProFinder , a tool for connecting with freelancers .

The new proposal seeks to take this a step further, truly facilitating connection and offers on the platform.

This could open up a host of new opportunities. Companies can now employ people from anywhere; they are no longer restricted by location. If geography isn't a limitation, then they can choose from a much broader pool of freelance talent, which could lead more companies to look to hire workers for a wider range of purposes.

More and more people are searching for and requesting freelance services on LinkedIn, with executive coaching, marketing, design and software development services being in particular demand.

“In the future, we will create new ways to share more about the services you [could] offer directly through your LinkedIn profile,” the spokesperson said.

In addition to searching a marketplace of freelancers, users will be able to post their own proposals to attract freelancers for specific jobs. When the work is completed, customers can post a review of the freelancer they hired.

LinkedIn Marketplaces has the potential to grow the user base and open new revenue streams. Customers will be able to compare rates and hire freelancers directly on the social network.

And you, do you have a LinkedIn profile?
